Our Catholic Faith
We value collaboration as a critical asset that our students must develop to respond to God’s call to lead and serve others using our Catholic Social Teaching in an evolving and diverse society.
We embrace the compatibility between the rich theological and spiritual foundation of our Catholic faith and the complexity and variety of modern scientific approaches.
We enrich our students with truth, freedom, and responsibility at the core of meaningful learning experiences that allow for a transformative encounter with God and His people and motivate our learners to charity and service that creates both scientific and human progress. (Science and the Future of Mankind, 2000)
Our STEM educational model and learning environment cultivates intrinsically motivated learners who are resilient, agile, responsive, innovative, and collaborative; formed to compassionately address problems not yet known.
Our Learning Methods
The STEM transformation does not only take place in our math and science classrooms, it is a holistic transformation of the entire learning ecosystem characterized by collaboration among teachers to create an interdisciplinary learning atmosphere.
Our learning methods foster design thinking, deep learning and collaboration in real world contexts of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
We utilize interdisciplinary learning to provide a context for students to foster these essential skills through hands-on activities and investigations.
Our teachers use project-based learning and inquiry-based methodology to create a classroom culture wherein students develop a mindset that embraces challenges while relishing mistakes and failures as opportunities to learn.
Our Curriculum
We provide our Network schools a new Common-Core aligned Math curriculum, Ready Math, and a new NGSSĀ aligned Science curriculum, STEMscopes.
Ready Math curriculum is accompanied by a technology component for students and teachers, i-Ready, which provides our teachers with data-driven insights so they can adapt their lesson plans dynamically to the skill level of each student.
STEMscopes is an online curriculum platform centered on STEM lessons using hands-on, exploratory lessons with data driven instruction.
We provide our teachers with professional development throughout the school year focused on curriculum standards and STEM teaching strategies.
Program Goals
- Equip and empower STEM proficient students that will be able to answer complex questions, investigate global issues, and develop solutions for challenges and real world problems using rigorous science, technology, engineering, and mathematics content.
- Create STEM proficient students that are innovative thinkers, effective communicators and are technologically, scientifically, and mathematically literate to prepare them for jobs that have yet to be created.
